One of the first (read: best)things my new creative director did at Slingshot was to kick the creative department's weekly "status meeting" in the ass. No longer would it be a simple listing of the various jobs that were in progress. No longer would it there be a friendly "so how was your weekend" thing followed by a tedious list of every job you were bound to touch in the next 48 hours.
Our creative meeting today started with a few quick housecleaning notes but quickly turned into: who are we hiring? where are we looking for our next intern? who wants to make a movie? who wants to participate in a 24 hour art marathon?
THAT is how a creative department should meet.
I walked out of that meeting with my head spinning. with ideas. and things to do. and people to call. and lists to make. and blogs to write. like this one. and this one.
